Workspace canvas basics

The Mastery HQ canvas works like a desk that never runs out of room: drag any window by its title bar, resize from its edges, drag empty space to pan the whole workspace, and zoom with the corner controls. Everything — positions, sizes, open panes — persists across reloads and app restarts automatically.

A welcome card offers the quickest ways in — an agent, Hermes, a terminal, music, the full command list, or the training game. Close it with its × when you want the clear canvas instead; it returns the next time you come back to an empty workspace. To stop it appearing at all, turn off Welcome card on an empty workspace in Settings → Style → Interface elements.

  • Move: drag a window’s title bar. Windows snap magnetically against each other’s edges while you drag.
  • Resize: drag any edge or corner.
  • Focus: click anywhere on a window to bring it to front.
  • Minimize: the — button in the title bar sends it to the Minimized Windows tray (top-left); click its chip to restore. Minimize/restore all lives in the top-bar cluster.
  • Close: the ×. Agents keep their persistent profile even when their window closes.

Drag empty canvas to pan; say scroll down 2 (or up/left/right) to pan by voice; the zoom control sits bottom-left with a fit to view action. The Pane Compass minimap (bottom right) shows the whole layout at a glance.

Layouts save continuously — quit, update, or reload and the workspace comes back exactly as you left it. Each named workspace keeps its own layout (Multiple workspacesP2 doc).

Arrange everything in one keystroke: Layouts & tidy.

Frequently asked questions

Where did my minimized window go?

Into the Minimized Windows tray at the top-left of the workspace. Click its name chip there to restore it exactly where it was — position and size are preserved.
