The Music pane
The Music pane is your focus soundtrack without leaving the canvas: YouTube, curated Stations, your History, Spotify, Apple Music — and the Studio, where the pane stops playing other people’s music and starts making yours. Switch sources from the dropdown in the pane’s title bar. Open it with open music or Ctrl+Shift+M.
Sources
Section titled “Sources”- YouTube — paste a link into the link row; the video plays in the left area with title/waveform/controls on the right. Standard embeds, no tricks.
- Stations — one-click curated streams for working.
- History — everything you’ve played, replayable.
- Spotify — connect your account for search, playlists and (on Premium) the native full-track player. Connect Spotify.
- Apple Music — link-based playback.
- Studio — generate complete songs and write lyrics (below).
The Studio: generate songs
Section titled “The Studio: generate songs”Say “make a song about shipping week” (command bar or voice) — or open the Studio tab and type what the song’s about, pick styles (“synthwave, upbeat, female vocals”) and a length (30s–3min). A confirm card states the cost source plainly; then Eleven Music writes, sings and mixes a complete track that starts playing in the pane and is saved to your workspace as an mp3.
- “make an instrumental about deep focus” — guaranteed no vocals.
- Songs generate with your ElevenLabs account: add
ELEVENLABS_API_KEYin Settings → Agents (.env). No key yet? You’re told where it goes before anything asks you to approve a cost — never after, so you can’t approve a run that was never able to start.
The lyric engine: words for free
Section titled “The lyric engine: words for free”“write lyrics about launching a product” — your local agent CLI (the same one that draws charts) writes structured [Verse]/[Chorus] lyrics straight into the Studio’s lyrics box. Edit them, then Generate song — with lyrics present, the generation follows a composition plan so the model sings your words, section by section. Lyrics cost nothing; only the final song generation uses ElevenLabs credits.
Controls
Section titled “Controls”Play/pause, seek, and volume live at the bottom of the pane; the waveform visualizer dances while audio actually plays — generated songs included. The pane keeps its place — loading a video never auto-moves the window.
- open music by voice mid-task; route it around like any pane.
- Music keeps playing while the pane is behind other windows. Minimizing pauses it — tuck the pane in a corner instead if you want it out of the way.
- Generated mp3s live in the workspace attachments folder — drop one on an agent (“use this as the demo-video soundtrack”) like any asset.
Frequently asked questions
What music sources are available?
Six, from the title-bar dropdown: YouTube (paste any link), Stations (curated focus streams), History (everything you've played), Spotify (account-linked; Premium gets the native full-track player), Apple Music, and Studio (generate your own songs).
What do I need to generate songs?
An ElevenLabs account: put your ELEVENLABS_API_KEY in the app .env (Settings → Agents). Generation uses Eleven Music credits from your plan, and every generation asks for confirmation first. Writing LYRICS is free — your local agent CLI does it.
Where do generated songs go?
Saved as mp3 files in your workspace's attachments folder, and they start playing in the Music pane immediately.
