Install Mastery HQ and launch it the first time
Installing takes a minute: run the Windows installer (MSI or setup EXE), activate with your license code, and Mastery HQ opens to the workspace chooser. First launch also offers the setup wizard (API keys and integrations) and a short training game that teaches the command bar.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Windows 10 or 11.
- The agent CLIs you plan to use, installed and signed in (e.g. Claude Code, Codex). Mastery HQ detects what’s installed — Settings → Agents shows the list with install hints for anything missing.
- Run the installer and finish the wizard.
- On first launch, enter your license code on the activation screen. (No code yet? See License activation.)
- The workspace chooser appears — pick Workspace 1 or create a new one. Each workspace is a separate canvas with its own layout and on-disk project folder.
- The setup wizard offers to store API keys (OpenRouter, xAI) and integration IDs (Spotify). All optional; you can re-run it later from Settings → Setup.
- The training game opens on first run — a scored walkthrough of real commands. Play it or close it; it stays available from the command bar.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”An open canvas with the command bar at the bottom. Type open an agent and press Enter — if an agent window appears, everything works.
