Streamlabs Desktop setup
If Streamlabs Desktop is your streaming app (instead of OBS Studio), Mastery HQ connects to it over its local named-pipe API and gives you scene and stream/record control without alt-tabbing.
- Install and run Streamlabs Desktop on the same PC.
- Enter Streaming Mode in Mastery HQ.
- With Streamlabs running, the connection establishes automatically; the control strip appears above the Streaming Mode badge with an SLOBS label.
What you can control
Section titled “What you can control”- Active scene — a dropdown of your Streamlabs scenes.
- Go Live / LIVE — start or stop streaming.
- Record / REC — start or stop recording.
Mic mute buttons are OBS-only for now — Streamlabs audio control ships once it can be verified against a live install (honest-limitations policy).
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- If both OBS and Streamlabs are connected, the strip shows OBS (it has the fuller feature set, including the privacy scene guard).
- No Streamlabs running → no strip; the app degrades gracefully rather than erroring.
