The setup wizard
The setup wizard runs on first launch (and anytime from Settings → Setup) to make features self-provision: it detects which agent CLIs are installed on your PC and offers to store the optional keys that unlock extras — an OpenRouter key for HTTP model agents, an xAI key for Grok voice, and a Spotify client ID for account-linked music.
What each field unlocks
Section titled “What each field unlocks”| Field | Unlocks |
|---|---|
OpenRouter API key (sk-or-…) |
OpenRouter agent panes + more models in Model Council and Benchmark |
xAI API key (xai-…) |
Grok voice (speech) and Grok as a Hermes brain |
| Spotify client ID | Account-linked Spotify in the Music pane (details) |
Key fields are password-masked as you type. Keys are written to Mastery HQ’s local .env and settings files on your machine — see Where your data lives.
- Open Settings (gear in the top bar) → Setup, or let the wizard appear on first launch.
- Review the detected agents list — anything found is ready to use immediately.
- Paste any keys you have. Skip the rest.
- Finish. Open a fresh agent window afterward so it picks up new keys.
If it didn’t work: keys are also manageable directly — see API keys and the .env file.
